Experience an immersive Beginning Bookbinding Workshop with Melbourne-based artist Antonette Willemse as she guides you through the captivating realm of traditional binding stitch techniques and patterns. Dive deep into crafting your own stunning collection of books, ideal for journaling, note-taking, or sketching. These meticulously handcrafted books also serve as exquisite gifts for your cherished ones.

Throughout the workshop, you'll delve into a diverse array of techniques, including the straightforward stitch and stab binding among others.  Each method progressively enhances your skills, enabling you to fashion unique, bespoke books that are both practical and visually striking.

New to bookbinding? This workshop caters to absolute beginners, requiring no prior experience. Antonette will furnish all the essential materials and guidance, ensuring you possess everything necessary to manifest your artistic aspirations.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR:  Antonette Willemse

Antonette is a South African born artist who now makes the Melbourne area her home.  She utilizes several Calligraphy techniques in her artwork and is a prolific oil painter and journaler.

WORKSHOP POLICIES

Registration for this event is required on our website (www.lighthousepaper.com) or in store at our Wickham Rd. location.  Walk-ins on the day of the event will only be accepted if there is space available and the instructor has materials available. Lighthouse Paper Co. or Instructor reserves the right to refuse non-registered students if space or materials are not available.  

We will email you a ticket for admission within 24 hours of purchase.  This ticket, printed or electronic, must be shown to staff prior to the start of the workshop.  

Cancellations: We do not allow cancellations as we have committed to compensating our instructor for their time, supplies and talent. However, if you are unable to attend the workshop, let us know within 48 hours and you can either send someone else in your place or have this workshop's materials shipped to you.  Lighthouse Paper Co. reserves the right to cancel this event due to limited attendance or staff shortage, in which a full refund will be promptly provided. 

Dietary Restrictions: As part of some workshops we provide snacks and refreshments.  While we try to accommodate all attendees, please let us know of any dietary restrictions you have and we will do our best to provide alternatives.
